The Bid movie was written and produced to entertain the urban hip hop community. The film contains a slew of social media stars that happen to be celebrities in the urban hip hop community but do not have “Hollywood” resumes.
The Bid is slang terminology that is recognized in all urban communities across America. The Bid was initially a term that inmates associated with the funniest person in prison that made everyone laugh and eased the tension that came with doing time. The term spoiled over into society, The Bid is now a term that the youth use to describe the funniest person in their circle or just a funny person in general. Since the term "The Bid" initiated in prison and is associated with a funny individual, the writers Maurquis Boone and Richard Harris decided to create a prison comedy and titled it, The Bid.
